Salutations Traveller;
Welcome to my little corner of the internet. Please, pull up a chair. Would you like some tea?
Let me tell you a little about myself. To start, I'm an artist and a biologist. I have claimed these titles in an official capacity since completing my post-secondary education. However, you should know that I have always had a deep insatiable curiosity for life, and I have drawn since I could hold a pencil.
If you were to ask me: "why are you an artist?" I would tell you this; I create art because that's what I'm meant to do. Water is wet, the sky is blue, and I draw things. For me, drawing, painting, getting messy with pigments and pastels and printmaking is how I best experience and interpret this world. Art is my purpose in life.
But I am not just an artist, I am also a biologist. If art is my reason for being, then biology is my inspiration and passion. I love all the intriguing and beautiful and terrible things of nature. I am happily transfixed by it. That's why I'm deeply invested in scientific illustration. It allows me to combine my purpose with my passion.
Well, I think that covers the basics. Feel free to wander about- and yes, there's more tea if you would like a second cup.
